Why not take a refreshing hike along the Wrights Mountain Trail, obviously you could also take a look at Lake Abenaki while you're here; it's not far at all. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Green Mountains. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Whaleback is in close proximity to Mud Pond, and there's whitewater on Ompompanoosuc River for all you adrenaline kick people. | | throughout August, and February is the month with the least moisture. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Green Mountains. The Dartmouth Outing Club Trail offers hiking at its best; if you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Lebanon. This lake is so wonderful. a wonderful time here at Mud Pond. A delightful nearby hotel is The Trumbull House Bed And Breakfast, and get your heart beating on the wonderful whitewater of Ompompanoosuc River - West Branch. Now, you may imagine that's plenty
but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Mud Pond. Swamps can be such exciting places, have a look at Gillette Swamp while you're here at Mud Pond, and Rest n' Nest Campground is a perfect local campground. All the outdoors
entertaining things in the Green Mountains will keep you coming back many times. Take a hike on the Grimes Hill Road, and the summit of Childs Hill can be distinguished from Mud Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by
is Lake Abenaki, and after a long day outdoors Residence Inn Hanover Lebanon is a great location to spend a night or two. Mud Pond is located in the Green Mountains. Why not camp at Rest N' Nest Campground if you're here at Mud Pond,
and naturally Barker Brook flows through this area. For the duration of the summertime months, highs mostly are in the 70's at Mud Pond with nighttime lows in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's; through the dark hours in the winter at Mud Pond temperatures plunge to the-10's.

Ticklenaked Pond
 | 19 miles away We have been campers on Ticklenaked Pond for 30 plus years and love it's pristine water and oh yes....the loons. We have now been seasonal campers for 8 years and plan on many more. This is a wonderful family campground with much to enjoy such as a fishing derby for the kids, pot luck dinners, karaoke, live bands at least a couple of times during the season, paddle boats to rent, swimming, boating, hot showers and many, many, wonderful folks.
