Mud Pond is right by the Half Moon Pond Trail, and Mud Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Half Moon State Park Campground is a nice local campground. Take a hike on the Glen Lake Trail, and get dripping wet paddling on Poultney River. Lake Bomoseen Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest, and a golf course nearby is Prospect Bay Country Club. The amount of       rainfall that falls at Mud Pond is close to the national average; most of the rain falls during August; February is the month with the least moisture. Arnolds Ledge is an exciting spot to explore while at Mud Pond, and a good site to camp here at Mud Pond is Bomoseen State Park Campground. This lake is so wonderful. The top of Bishop Hill is easily observed from Mud Pond, and swamps can be such out of the ordinary places, have a look at Conway Swamp since you're                  here at Mud Pond. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things at Mud Pond.
