Mud Pond is not far at all from Rutland; Conway Swamp is an exciting swamp in close proximity to Mud Pond. On a magnificent day at Mud Pond you can take a hike along the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you       can always take a look at close by Spruce Pond.
