     The beauty of Moores Ponds attracts many people from all around. All the outdoors amusing things near Moores Ponds will keep you coming back persistently. Why not camp at Sugarhouse Campground since you're here at Moores Ponds, and you can have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Barnard Trail. Camping is available at Coolidge State Park, and dry warm beds await you at The Pointe at Castle Hill Resort. This lake is so wonderful. Okemo has brilliant slopes  
   and a friendly staff, and you might also want to pay a visit to Plymouth Notch since you're here at Moores Ponds.
Killington is a very popular ski area close by, and Mill River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby. During the warmest time of the year, highs usually are in the 80's at Moores Ponds; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to
 
               Moores Ponds. Having a magnificent time at Moores Ponds is easy. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Black River.
Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Green Mountains. There are other places here than Moores Ponds, for example Upper Moore Pond, and hiking along the Juggernaut Trail is tremendous fun. This lake is so wonderful. Jackson Gore Inn on Okemo Mountain is a brilliant place to get some rest, and Grass Pond is a pleasant lake nearby. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can go to Moore Pond Upper Dam; if you're here you can take a hike along the Bucklin Trail.
So much fun stuff in the Green Mountains, just amazing. Blueberry Hill is clearly visible from Moores Ponds; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Great Roaring Brook. All the water falling down from the sky makes Moores Ponds a wet place; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is located in the wonderful Green Mountains.

South of Rutland rt 7 south to rt 140 east. Entrance is not easily seen. A up hill right off 140 then a quick left up hill, and a quick right again. Just a little sign. Before the right turn on 140 you will see white rocks used as drainage. the turn is shortly there after. Rocky road. Hope this helps....

Been to Chittenden Brook Campgound for the last 15 years now...Best place I have ever camped anywhere in New England...Great babbling brook, thick woods..and not many camp sites!! This is true rustic camping...the only things offered at the campground is an outhouse and a brook for bathing..(coldest water I've ever been in).. wonderful hiking trails... beautiful beaver pond.... and generally some wonderful people around to sit around a fire with!!...
