Heidi: I am suprised that I am being ask to be the first person to give input on this beautiful lake that spans northern VT into Canada. It is a lake that talks to you, as far as my opinion goes. I lived in Newport,Newport Center (Bear Mountain) and Noth Troy when I was bewtween the ages of 9-13. I am now 42!
I just recently went back to Newport and that beautiful lake that talked to me, and i think it helped me figure out a part of my life that has been a little bit difficult to understand and move ahead. I Do have somr pictures in some old photo albumd, and I will make an effort to submit, Agian I am Surprised I am the first to comment on this Lake, it is ,as far as I am concerned one of the wonder of NEW ENGLAND!

If you're here at Lake Memphremagog, do take a tour to Derby Bay, and needless to say, this is a glorious region for folks who like lakes, Clyde Pond is a lake close at hand. There are great locations to discover along the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail, and Fireside Campground is a delightful local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Mount Pisgah East Trail is always a glorious adventure, and why not head up to Jay Peak and strap some

| | skis to your feet. And if that's not sufficient, there's a load more to do near Lake Memphremagog. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Barton River. At Lake Memphremagog during the summer months highs are in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. All through the winter the highs are generally in the 20's | |

with temperatures at Lake Memphremagog dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. Lake Memphremagog is a good spot of common precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month
with the least moisture. Near Lake Memphremagog you hit upon the Pisgah Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail; why not camp at Camp Morasha if you're here at Lake Memphremagog. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in
a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Clyde Pond, and get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Clyde River.
