    If you are in this part of Vermont make sure to pay a visit to May Pond. Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at May Pond. While you're here at May Pond, you could also stop at charming Bean Pond, and you can hit the slopes at Burke Mountain close at hand. The Green Mountains scenery is always beautiful. During the summer months, highs mostly are in the 70's at May Pond. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's.  
   The winter comes with highs in the 20's while May Pond overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's.
May Pond gets a common amount of annual precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. On a pretty day you acquire a sight of Barton Mountain from May Pond; Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is a wonderful location to get
 
               some rest. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Green Mountains. Stay the night at Will-o-wood Campground.
This place, the Green Mountains, has so much outdoors amusing things. Belview Campground is a great campground nearby, and there are brilliant places to look at along the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail. Don't leave May Pond without first going for a hike along the Mount Pisgah Trail, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Motel and Annex is a wonderful site to spend a night or two. So many entertaining things to do in the Green Mountains, not enough time. A forest in the vicinity of May Pond is Willoughby State Forest, and Lyndon Outing Club has great slopes and a friendly staff.
This lake is so wonderful. Enjoy a round of golf at Orleans Country Club not far from May Pond, and of course Willoughby Brook flows through this area. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at May Pond. Get your heart beating on the nice whitewater of Barton River; do take a look at Mud Pond, it's a beautiful lake. May Pond Dam is worth going to if you're here; why not take a look at a swamp like Stillwater Swamp while you're here at May Pond.
There's great hiking along the South Shore Hiking Trail; a pleasant place for whitewater paddling is Clyde River.
