If you like lakes and you're in this part of Vermont you can check out Marl Pond. This lake is one of the great places here in the Green Mountains. A splendid nearby hotel is Fairbanks Inn, and Marl Pond is fine enough to spend more than a day at, White Caps Campground is a fine local campground. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Marl Pond. Go for a hike on the South Shore Hiking Trail; the peak of Bartlett Mountain can be spotted from Marl Pond.

| | There are splendid spots to discover along the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Burke Mountain. High temperatures at Marl Pond through the summer are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's; overnight lows at Marl Pond during the winter ordinarily dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Really fine skiing awaits you at Lyndon Outing Club, and Vail Pond is a nearby lake that you could check out. You just can't picture the amount
of outdoors fun things the Green Mountains has to offer. Whitewater paddling is good on Clyde River, and if you get bored of Marl Pond you could also visit nearby Lake Willoughby.
This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Barton
River is so much fun, and a great place to camp here at Marl Pond is White Caps Campground. Having a perfect time in the Green Mountains is easy. Don't leave Marl Pond without first going for a hike along the Mount Pisgah Trail; if you need a spot to stay Holiday Motel and Annex is a wonderful choice.
