     Marl Pond is a beautiful lake in the Green Mountains. Lakes? Sure, Vail Pond is in the neighborhood, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail. Marl Pond gets a typical amount of annual rainfall; through August this area sees the most rain while February is usually the driest month.
This lake is so wonderful. Bartlett Mountain is gorgeous and can be observed from Marl Pond; if you come at the right time of year, Barton
 
   River offers some good whitewater. Any time is a wonderful time at Marl Pond if you like the outdoors. There's so much to do here at Marl Pond that you need to camp here for a while, White Caps Campground is a tremendous place for that, and Holiday Motel and Annex is a fine spot to get some rest.
For the period of the days of summer here at Marl Pond, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures
 
               drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Marl Pond temperatures sink to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Marl Pond you can take a hike along the South Shore Hiking Trail, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Burke Mountain is rather near. If the weather is brilliant here at Marl Pond, you can go for a hike along the Mount Pisgah Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Fairbanks Inn.
All year is a fine time in the Green Mountains if you go for the outdoors. A day on the slopes of Lyndon Outing Club is just what you need, and soar down the rapids of Clyde River in a kayak. So many cool things to do here in the Green Mountains, too great to be true. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Marl Pond has to offer, you can camp at White Caps Campground; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Duck Pond.

I am suprised that I am being ask to be the first person to give input on this beautiful lake that spans northern VT into Canada. It is a lake that talks to you, as far as my opinion goes. I lived in Newport,Newport Center (Bear Mountain) and Noth Troy when I was bewtween the ages of 9-13. I am now 42!

I just recently went back to Newport and that beautiful lake that talked to me, and i think it helped me figure out a part of my life that has been a little bit difficult to understand and move ahead. I Do have somr pictures in some old photo albumd, and I will make an effort to submit,
Agian I am Surprised I am the first to comment on this Lake, it is ,as far as I am concerned one of the wonder of NEW ENGLAND!...
