Sure, Hardwick Lake is close to Mackville Pond, and obviously Cooper Brook is a wonderful stream that is worth a visit. Hollow Inn and Motel is a good place to get some rest, and if you came for an overnight stay Idle Hours Campground is a great location to camp. These mountains rock, just explore all the amusing stuff to do in the Green Mountains. Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Winooski River, and Larry and Sons       Campground is a great local campground. You could also take a look at Mackville Pond while you're here at Mackville Pond; it's nearby; don't miss out on a tremendous swamp; Martell Swamp is right here at Mackville Pond. Good hiking is available along the Osmore Pond Hiking Loop, and there's a forest here called Hardwick Union Municipal Forest. But wait, there's more to do near Mackville Pond. A round of golf at nearby Woodbury Golf Course is a brilliant way                  to kill some time, and Mackville Dam is an exciting thing to check out. Mackville Pond is a rather wet place generally with a large amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Mackville Pond without first going for a hike along the Kettle Pond Trail, and Lamoille River - Wild Branch has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. Mackville Pond is located in the Green Mountains. Just can't get enough of Mackville Pond. Lots of folks from Barre come to Mackville Pond. At Mackville Pond during the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are generally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Mackville Pond. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Green Mountains.
