Why not stop by Mackville Pond if you're passing through these parts. Camping is available at Idle Hours Campground, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Winooski River. So much entertaining stuff in the Green Mountains, just mind-blowing. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mackville Pond; Kettle Pond Trail is a pleasant local trail, and why not camp at Larry and Sons Campground while you're here at Mackville Pond. A forest close to Mackville Pond is Hardwick Union Municipal Forest, and hey, Cooper Brook is a magnificent local stream. This place, Mackville
Pond, it clearly has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. The Osmore Pond Hiking Loop offers hiking at its best; golf can be played at Woodbury Golf Course. Mackville Pond is one of the lakes here in the Green Mountains.
This lake
is so wonderful. Barre-Days Inn Barre/Montpelier is a delightful place to get some rest; the great people of Barre like to hang out nearby. The high level of rainfall makes Mackville Pond a rather wet place; all through the month
of August you get the most rain around here while February is ordinarily the driest month. And that's not all there is to do here in the Green Mountains. There are other sites here than Mackville Pond, for example Mackville Pond, and if you come at the right time of year, Lamoille River - Wild Branch offers some great whitewater.
