For the period of the summertime at Long Pond temperatures are typically in the 70's while overnight lows are mostly in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Long Pond are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Burke Mountain if you're here, and there are other spots here       than Long Pond, for example Negro Pond. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Long Pond. There's whitewater on Clyde River for all you adrenaline kick people, and White Caps Campground is a great campground nearby. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Green Mountains. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Lyndon Outing Club, and from Long Pond you obtain a good vista of Goodwin Mountain. Long Pond gets a typical                  amount of precipitation; August is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is February. Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is a great place to get some rest; the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby. Get your heart beating on the pleasant whitewater of Barton River, and White Caps Campground is a magnificent local campground. Long Pond is located in the Green Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Green Mountains. If the weather is delightful here at Long Pond, you can go for a hike along the South Shore Hiking Trail; Kings Pond is a good lake close by. This lake is so wonderful.
