High temperatures at Long Pond during the warmest time of the year are in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. Through the winter the highs are frequently in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Long Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Motel and Annex, and hiking is a popular thing to       do around Long Pond; South Shore Hiking Trail is a wonderful local trail. A normal amount of rain falls here at Long Pond; most of the rain falls through August; February meanwhile is the driest month. Be careful coming to Long Pond, you might not ever want to go back home again. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Burke Mountain. Lakes? Sure, Negro Pond is in close proximity. You can run the rapids of Clyde River next to Long Pond,                  and there are other locations here than Long Pond, for example Kings Pond. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Green Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail; why not head up to Lyndon Outing Club and strap some skis to your feet. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Mount Pisgah Trail, and Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is a wonderful location to get some rest. These mountains rock, just explore all the enjoyable things to do in the Green Mountains. Barton River is a pleasant whitewater spot close to Long Pond, and camping is available at White Caps Campground.
