A visit to Long Pond is always a good idea. The Green Mountains scenery is always beautiful. The vista of Big Rock Hill from Long Pond is pretty, and if you've had enough of Long Pond, Round Pond is nearby. From a rainfall point of view Long Pond is a relatively typical location; throughout August this area sees the most rain while February is regularly the driest month. Any time is a fine time at Long Pond if you like the outdoors. You'll need more than

| | a day to look at everything Long Pond has to offer, you can camp at Belview Campground, and in case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clyde River. This lake is so wonderful. A great close by hotel is Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area, and everybody nearby loves skiing at Lyndon Outing Club. There's so much to do here at Long Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Will-o-wood Campground is a delightful | |

place for that; a fine location for whitewater paddling is Barton River. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more cool things to do here in the Green Mountains. Going for a hike on the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail is
always a good adventure; hey, Gotta ski right? Burke Mountain is a delightful place to do that. For the duration of the long summer days here at Long Pond, high temperatures generally get into the 70's. All through the dark hours
of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Long Pond descend into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
Don't leave Long Pond without first going for a hike along the Mount Pisgah Trail, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Motel and Annex is a tremendous site to spend a night or two. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place!
The Green Mountains rocks! You could also check out Mud Pond if you're here at Long Pond; it's nearby, and you can go for a hike on the South Shore Hiking Trail.
