    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Vermont you can check out Long Hole. Long Hole is a delightful location to visit for more than one day, Campground B is a delightful location to camp nearby, and the Lake Trail is a nice hiking trail nearby. Griffith Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit; you can run the rapids of Mill River. Long Hole is one of the lakes here in the Green Mountains.
This place rocks, just look at all the entertaining stuff
 
   to do near Long Hole. If you need a site to stay Manchester View Fine Lodging is a tremendous choice; dry warm beds await you at Inns at the Equinox. For the duration of the summertime months, highs commonly are in the 80's at Long Hole. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Long Hole. So much cool stuff to do at Long Hole, so little time. Snow Valley  
               is a great local ski area; a lake close by is Little Mud Pond.
And if that's not enough there's a heap more cool stuff to do in the Green Mountains. Just can't get enough of the Green Mountains. The skiing at Bromley is good, and at Long Hole you can see Baker Peak. Campground A is a glorious campground nearby, and you'll in all probability meet some folks from Rutland here.
This lake is so wonderful. On a good day at Long Hole you can take a hike along the Staples Trail, and Swale Meadow is a great place to stretch your legs a bit. This lake is so wonderful. Why not visit nearby Three Shanties Brook if you're here at Long Hole, and get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Big Branch. And that's not everything you can do here in the Green Mountains. Near Long Hole you stumble on the Baker Peak Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail, and Elbow Swamp is an attention-grabbing swamp close to Long Hole.
Long Hole usually gets a great deal of rainfall; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here; February is the month with the least moisture.

Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go. I am enclosing a picture i took on June 19th 2007....
