A great site to camp here at Lily Pond is Half Moon State Park Campground, and Lily Pond is right by the Half Moon Pond Trail. Near Lily Pond you find a golf course called Prospect Bay Country Club; Lily Pond is not far at all from Rutland. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll go for Lily Pond. From Lily Pond you obtain a great vista of Cedar Mountain; Loves Marsh Dam is gorgeous. So much enjoyable stuff to do here at Lily Pond, too great to be true.

| | Take some time to visit Castleton Municipal Forest if you're here, and camping is available at Bomoseen State Park Campground. Lily Pond is a good location of normal precipitation; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is February. During the summer months at Lily Pond temperatures are usually in the 80's, and the nighttime is a little cooler of course, typically in the 50's. the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lily Pond temperatures sink to the 0's. Rutland Killington Red Roof Inn is a magnificent site to get some rest; why not take a refreshing hike along the Bomoseen Hiking
Loop. Take a side tour to Sucker Brook, and hiking along the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial is good fun. This lake is so wonderful. Why not have a look at Cedar Point also if you're here; whitewater paddling is great on Poultney River.
You'll hit upon a lovely lake called Loves Marsh near Lily Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Highlander Motel. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Lily Pond, you could also go to delightful Halfmoon Lake, and check out close by Beaver Meadow.

Country Village Campgrounds

It is within 5 miles of Brandon, Fern Lake and Otter Creek, and within 15 miles of Middlebury, Rutland, Lake Dunmore, Salisbury and several other small towns. Brandon is a well-known artist's village that is famous for several galleries shops and restaurants, and home to the well-know artist Warren Kimball. There are also many wonderful events held in the village including weekly farmers markets, and several festivals and parades throughout the year.
Country Village Campground has 41 spacious sites that can accommodate small tents all the way up to the largest of campers. The bath house is clean and spacious with hot showers, and it is located right in the middle of the campground for easy access to all sites. A trip to Country Village Campground wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Branbury State Park; nearby you hit upon the Silver Lake Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Rocky Pond
 | 14 miles away 4 PHOTOS Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go.  | 16 miles away White Rocks,great trail 0.8 miles up. Trails interstect with AT, check map before you go up. Two water falls on the left. First one could be risky to see always a wet gorge. Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south. The peak was quite higher at one time in the past. Looking down over the cliff edge are three seperate rock falls which is the old peak.... |
