     Interesting geology is available here; Rattlesnake Point is in close proximity to Lake Dunmore, and Sugarbush is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! Lake Dunmore rules! Dry warm beds await you at Courtyard Middlebury, and why not camp at Waterhouse Campground and Marina if you're here at Lake Dunmore. If you came for an overnight stay Lake Dunmore Kampersville is a great place to camp; why not head up to  
   Mad River Glen and strap some skis to your feet. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Otter Creek, and at Lake Dunmore you can make out Bryant Mountain.
Good hiking is available along the Falls of Lana Trail, and if you've had enough of Lake Dunmore, Fern Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. All through the months of summer highs here at Lake Dunmore get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Highs during the wintertime
 
               are frequently in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Lake Dunmore are in the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Keewaydin Trail, also Lake Dunmore Dam is worth checking out if you're here. There are tremendous locations to look at along the Nature Trail; obviously Sucker Brook flows through this area. If you need a location to stay The Middlebury Inn is a glorious choice, and get drenched paddling on Middlebury River.
And if you're still looking for more outdoors cool stuff just keep reading. Salisbury Municipal Forest is a forest right next door to Lake Dunmore that you can go to, and Lake Dunmore is a place with many visitors from Rutland. This lake is so wonderful. Falls of Lana is a good local attraction, of course you could also pop by Lake Dunmore if you're here; it's not far at all. Lake Dunmore gets a typical amount of yearly rain; the month with most of the rain is August; February on the other hand is the driest.
