Lake Dunmore is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Otter Creek; if you come at the right time of year, Middlebury River offers some good whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Courtyard By Marriott Middlebury is a delightful spot to spend a night or two; Bryant Mountain is a peak you can see from Lake Dunmore. It's always great to go to Falls of Lana, and Mad River Glen has good

| | slopes and a friendly staff. All the outdoors entertaining things next to Lake Dunmore will keep you coming back over and over. Lake Dunmore is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Dunmore Kampersville is a pleasant local campground, and going for a hike along the Falls of Lana Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Rattlesnake Point is an attention-grabbing thing to catch a sight of since you're here at Lake Dunmore. | |

There's so much to do here at Lake Dunmore that you need to camp here for a while, Waterhouse Campground and Marina is a glorious location for that. Having a good time at Lake Dunmore is painless. There's a magnificent forest in close
proximity to Lake Dunmore called Salisbury Municipal Forest; perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Lake Dunmore is just a very short distance away. This lake is so wonderful. This is a magnificent vicinity for people
who like lakes. Fern Lake is a lake in close proximity, and do check out Lake Dunmore Dam if you're here. An average amount of rain falls at Lake Dunmore; throughout August this area sees the most rain while February is the month
with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. At Lake Dunmore through the summer highs are in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's;
nighttime lows during the winter for Lake Dunmore tend to be in the 0's. Dry warm beds await you at The Middlebury Inn, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Sucker Brook. Lots of people from Rutland come to Lake Dunmore;
you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Keewaydin Trail. Take a hike on the Nature Trail; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Sugarbush.

Keewaydin Trail
 | White Rocks,great trail 0.8 miles up. Trails interstect with AT, check map before you go up. Two water falls on the left. First one could be risky to see always a wet gorge. Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south. The peak was quite higher at one time in the past. Looking down over the cliff edge are three seperate rock falls which is the old peak.... |

Country Village Campgrounds
 | 1 PHOTO Tent Sites, RV Hookups, Pets OK, Fires OK, Store, Nearby Grocery, Pool... - 36 RV hookups... ...the middle of the state. It is within 5 miles of Brandon, Fern Lake and Otter Creek, and within 15 miles of Middlebury, Rutland, Lake Dunmore, Salisbury and several other small towns. Brandon is a well-known artist's village that is famous for several galleries shops and restaurants, and home to the well-know artist Warren Kimball. There are also many wonderful events held in the village including weekly farmers markets, and several festivals and parades throughout the year.
Country Village Campground has 41 spacious sites that can accommodate small tents all the way up to the largest of campers. The bath house is clean and spacious with hot showers, and it is located right in the middle of the campground for easy access to all sites. A trip to Country Village Campground wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Branbury State Park; nearby you hit upon the Silver Lake Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Camping in Vermont is such a fun thing to do. All the nice local attractions in close proximity and the nice variety of outdoors recreation will certainly have... |

This is true rustic camping...the only things offered at the campground is an outhouse and a brook for bathing..(coldest water I've ever been in).. wonderful hiking trails... beautiful beaver pond.... and generally some wonderful people around to sit around a fire with!!... |
