| | Inn is a great place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Big D Campground, and Johnson Pond is not the only location nearby, Lake Hortonia is a nearby lake. Summertime highs at Johnson Pond usually tend to be in the 80's while night lows are commonly in the 50's. Johnson Pond without first going for a hike along the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial, also Lake Hortonia Dam is worth taking a look at while you're here. There are plenty of people from Rutland here at Johnson Pond. At Johnson Pond
you can make out Felton Hill, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Johnson Pond; Glen Lake Trail is a brilliant local trail. From a precipitation point of view Johnson Pond is a rather common location; during the month of August you get the most rain around here; February meanwhile is the driest month.

Country Village Campgrounds

Outdoor recreation is bountiful, some of the enjoyable stuff you can do is swimming, playing golf at Neshobe Golf Club, whitewater paddling, hiking, and fishing, so you won’t run out of things to do.
The folks who look after the campground and all the nice pastime activities will make you feel at home. Quite a lot of cool stuff to do next to Country Village Campground, and it's one of those places where everything is close.
If only every location had this much outdoor entertaining stuff, what a great planet it would be. A tremendous place like Half Moon Pond State Park is near Country Village Campground and is too wonderful to leave out, and going for a hike on the Falls of Lana Trail is always a perfect adventure. All through the warm days of summer at Country Village Campground highs are mostly in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 0's. When the weather is good here at Country Village Campground, you can go for a hike along the Chandler Ridge Trail, and the friendly people... |

 | 13 miles away White Rocks,great trail 0.8 miles up. Trails interstect with AT, check map before you go up. Two water falls on the left. First one could be risky to see always a wet gorge. Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south. The peak was quite higher at one time in the past. Looking down over the cliff edge are three seperate rock falls which is the old peak.... |

Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go.
