Johnson Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. There is a glorious hiking trail close to Johnson Pond called the Half Moon Pond Trail, and playing golf is lots of fun at Prospect Bay Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. If you're going to Johnson Pond from Rutland, you won't be the only one, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Poultney River. | | the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Johnson Pond. not the only location close by, Lake Hortonia is a close by lake. Going for a hike on the Glen Lake Trail is always a good adventure. Big D Campground is a magnificent campground nearby; the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial is a great
hiking trail close by. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can stop at Lake Hortonia Dam, of course you could also take a look at Choate Pond while you're here; it's not far at all. Having a good time at Johnson Pond is
painless. Get dripping wet paddling on Otter Creek; The Middlebury Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest. Johnson Pond is a good place of common rain; most of the rain falls all through August, and February is when it's the driest.
