Go for a hike on the Red Pine Trail, and a wonderful nearby hotel is Holiday Motel and Annex. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such calm spots, why not take a look at Back Pond near Island Pond; a wooded vicinity close by is Brighton Municipal Forest. Lightning Brook is a great local stream, and the slopes of Burke Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. Don't       leave Island Pond without first going for a hike along the Main Trail. For the period of the warm days of summer at Island Pond highs are usually in the 70's while night lows are ordinarily in the 50's. Highs during the winter are commonly in the 20's; nighttime lows at Island Pond through the wintertime typically dip into the 0's. This place, the Green Mountains, has so much outdoors fun things. Glide down the rapids of Clyde River in a kayak. There's so much                  to do here at Island Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Burke Mountain Campgrounds is a great site for that. From a rain point of view Island Pond is a quite common place; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
