There's whitewater on Poultney River for all you thrill seekers, and going for a hike on the Bomoseen Hiking Loop is always a delightful adventure. An average amount of rain falls at Howard Pond; during August this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Howard Dam is worth going to if you're here, and not far from here you can enjoy the trees of Fair Haven Municipal Forest. There are delightful locations

come across Inman Pond which is a stunning lake. Best Western Ticonderoga Inn & Suites is a great place to get some rest; a splendid site to camp here at Howard Pond is Bomoseen State Park Campground. This lake is so wonderful.
Prospect Bay Country Club is a fine golf course nearby, and do set aside some time for Beaver Meadow while you're here at Howard Pond. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a magnificent time here at Howard Pond. Dry warm beds await you
at Super 8 Motel Ticonderoga, and the fine people of Rutland like to hang out nearby. Camping is available at Half Moon State Park Campground. Lakes are magnificent; Sheldon Pond is a lake that's near Howard Pond.

At this campground you will always have a delightful time. Getting to Neshobe River from Country Village Campground is simple, and Middlebury River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby.
Outdoor recreation is bountiful, some of the enjoyable stuff you can do is swimming, playing golf at Neshobe Golf Club, whitewater paddling, hiking, and fishing, so you won’t run out of things to do.
The folks who look after the campground and all the nice pastime activities will make you feel at home. Quite a lot of cool stuff to do next to Country Village Campground, and it's one of those places where everything is close.
If only every location had this much outdoor entertaining stuff, what a great planet it would be. A tremendous place like Half Moon Pond State Park is near Country Village Campground and is too wonderful to leave out, and going for a hike on the Falls of Lana Trail is always a perfect adventure. Rocky Pond
 | 18 miles away 4 PHOTOS Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go. Keewaydin Trail
 | 19 miles away White Rocks,great trail 0.8 miles up. Trails interstect with AT, check map before you go up. Two water falls on the left. First one could be risky to see always a wet gorge. Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south. The peak was quite higher at one time in the past. Looking down over the cliff edge are three seperate rock falls which is the old peak.... |
