Vermont has many beautiful lakes and High Pond is one of them. Just can't get enough of High Pond. Austin Pond Dam is worth stopping at while you're here, and going for a hike on the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial is always a great adventure. If you need a place to stay The Middlebury Inn is a great choice, and get your heart beating on the nice whitewater of Poultney River. Don't leave High Pond without first checking out Barber Ledge; there are good places

| | to look at along the Half Moon Pond Trail. So much enjoyable stuff to do at High Pond, so little time. The nice folks of Rutland like to hang out close by. All through the warm days of summer at High Pond temperatures are typically in the 80's; the night is quite chillier of course, usually in the 50's. course in close proximity to High Pond. Lakes? Sure, Breese Pond is in the neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful. Big D Campground is a glorious local campground; swamps don’t sound that nice but Beaver Meadow near High Pond
is quite nice. This lake is so wonderful. Page Point is rather near High Pond, and don't forget to take a great little visit to Giddings Brook. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Halfmoon
Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Bomoseen Hiking Loop. The annual precipitation here at High Pond is about average; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. If you came for
an overnight stay Half Moon State Park Campground is a nice spot to camp, and dry warm beds await you at Courtyard By Marriott Middlebury.

Country Village Campgrounds

At this campground you will always have a delightful time. Getting to Neshobe River from Country Village Campground is simple, and Middlebury River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby.
Outdoor recreation is bountiful, some of the enjoyable stuff you can do is swimming, playing golf at Neshobe Golf Club, whitewater paddling, hiking, and fishing, so you won’t run out of things to do.
The folks who look after the campground and all the nice pastime activities will make you feel at home. Quite a lot of cool stuff to do next to Country Village Campground, and it's one of those places where everything is close.
If only every location had this much outdoor entertaining stuff, what a great planet it would be. A tremendous place like Half Moon Pond State Park is near Country Village Campground and is too wonderful to leave out, and going for a hike on the Falls of Lana Trail is always a perfect adventure.  | 14 miles away 4 PHOTOS Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go. Keewaydin Trail

Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south.
