Haystack Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. You're sure to stumble upon some smiling folks from Bennington here; nice skiing awaits you at Mount Snow. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Haystack Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Moss Hollow Campground is a good place for that, and a lake close by is Crystal Pond. Yeah, come here to Haystack Pond for a nice time. If you need a spot to stay

| | Mt Snow Grand Summit Resort is a great choice, unsurprisingly you could also have a look at Searsburg Reservoir if you're here; it's not far at all. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Haystack, and Haystack Pond is right by the Deerfield Ridge Trail. The high level of rain makes Haystack Pond a rather wet place; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. | |

Paddling on Deerfield River is so much fun; here at Haystack Pond you can catch a glimpse of Haystack Mountain. Get soaked paddling on Deerfield River - East Branch, and do take a hike on the Deerfield Trail. All through the months
of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Haystack Pond. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Haystack Pond descend
into the 0's. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Haystack Pond has to offer, you can camp at Red Mill Brook Campground; a great nearby hotel is Manchester View Fine Lodging.

Lake Sadawga
 | 1 PHOTO ...to stop building in the whitingham area, it is very quickly loosing its natural appearance (not to mention killing the fish and environment) we should stop building around the world, this is one contribution to global warming and obviously the fact that we will eventually outgrow our environment. I suggest rebuilding ontop of old houses if you have the money to build a new house at all otherwise, renovate.I also wish to somehow reduce population which is nearly impossible to do all over the world, china has a good system for that (though a little strict its neccessary you only need two at the most anyway more than that is just rediculous) in building, we need roads, well when it rains the roads and the houses prevent the acidic rain from penetrating and filtering throughout the peat and other minerals in the ground. This filtration helps maintain proper ph (affects fish immensely) and filter sediment out (which hinders the gills of fish)not to mention aids in producing topsoil. so the acid rain is now draining in ditches and along the road into ... sadawga, harriman res., and any oth... |
Deerfield River - West Branch
 | WOW. don't come here unless you been paddlin for some time. Although a bit easier than CL5 I have done in other states, this still comes at you fast. Not easy to find a place to stay if looking for a room as it was stated here. Wasn't hard to find a place and park for the night though and with a mini van with DVDs, we snuggled up nice, with noone to bother us. Oh yeah, nice and cool at night (although summer) glad we had a lot of blankets and ways to stay warm.... |
