     Haystack Pond is always a pleasure to visit. While you're here at Haystack Pond you can take a hike along the Deerfield Trail, and there are some perfect whitewater spots on Deerfield River - East Branch. If you come at the right time of year, Deerfield River offers some good whitewater, and if you came for an overnight stay Moss Hollow Campground is a splendid spot to camp. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Big Bears Lodge is a great place  
   to spend a night or two; going for a hike along the Deerfield Ridge Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
Haystack Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. During the summer at Haystack Pond temperatures are generally in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. For the duration of the
 
               winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Haystack Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Mt Snow Grand Summit Resort, and a day on the slopes of Mount Snow is just what you need.
At Haystack Pond you can distinguish Haystack Mountain, and the snow is good at Haystack. And if that's not sufficient, there's loads more to do close to Haystack Pond. Lakes are such peaceful spots, why not visit Crystal Pond in the neighborhood of Haystack Pond, and why not camp at Red Mill Brook Campground while you're here at Haystack Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Haystack Pond you'll possibly meet some folks from Bennington.
