     This lake is one of the great places here in the Green Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. A good spot to camp here at Hartwell Pond is Belview Campground, and get dripping wet paddling on Barton River.
This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Lamoille River - Wild Branch, and Hartwell Pond is right by the Bayley Hazen Military Road Trail. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the area near Hartwell Pond has to offer.
 
   After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is a brilliant place to spend a night or two, and Hartwell Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Tree Corners Family Campground is a great local campground. During the summertime, highs regularly are in the 70's at Hartwell Pond. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures  
               at Hartwell Pond plunge into the 0's.
You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing things the Green Mountains has to offer. If you need a site to stay Fairbanks Inn is a brilliant choice, and a tremendous vista of beautiful Ames Hill is available. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Hartwell Pond; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail, and not far from Hartwell Pond you'll come across Daniels Pond which is a scenic lake.
Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! The Green Mountains is excellent! Take a hike on the South Shore Hiking Trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Sweeney Pond.

I am suprised that I am being ask to be the first person to give input on this beautiful lake that spans northern VT into Canada. It is a lake that talks to you, as far as my opinion goes. I lived in Newport,Newport Center (Bear Mountain) and Noth Troy when I was bewtween the ages of 9-13. I am now 42!

I just recently went back to Newport and that beautiful lake that talked to me, and i think it helped me figure out a part of my life that has been a little bit difficult to understand and move ahead. I Do have somr pictures in some old photo albumd, and I will make an effort to submit,
