Bolton Valley
 | 25 miles away 5 PHOTOS Rider over BV... Woods deep... Hotel... Mike snow cloud... ...hats New For 2008-09, Bolton Valley is further expanded snowmaking. Improvements including replacement of 5,500ft of 4'' snowmaking pipe with 6'' pipe to allow us to pump more water through the system. We have also added two SMI Pole Cat fan guns which will be mounted in the terrain park, giving us the capacity to blow a tremendous amount of snow in the park.
We have also added a new Prinoth Bison Groomer to our grooming fleet. The addition puts our total number of groomers at five and will allow us to provide a better quality skiing and riding surface over more of the mountain more often.
Guests will also notice a new look in the main lodge's cafeteria. Bolton Valley has invested in new tables and seating to provide more comfort for those taking a break for a cup of cocoa or having a bite to eat.
The rental fleet has been upgraded with several new skis from Rossignol and boards from Burton.
For the 2009-2010 season we are further improving our green initiative by adding a Wind Turbine to the top of the Vista Quad. This Wind Turbine will offset a proportio... |
Jay Peak
 | 26 miles away 5 PHOTOS Jay Peak is 385 acres and 2,153 vertical feet of glades, bumps, groomers, and parks. Eight lifts, including Vermont's only aerial tramway, access 76 trails, 4 terrain parks for all abilities, and on average, 376 inches of natural snow every season. Jay Peak is well known for its glades and extreme chutes but there's more to the mountain than just expert terrain ? like The Zone, Jay Peak's learning area, which includes 4 lifts that access 11 trails and introductory glades.... Hmm? Jay Peak seems like it has two peaks, shouldn't it be called Jay Peaks? But other than the confusing name I have no complaints. Lots of good runs.... |
