    A visit to Lake Hancock is always a good idea. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Hancock is right by the Atwood Trail, and hey, Gotta ski right? Mount Greylock Ski Club is a great site to do that. The peak of Scrub Hill can be seen from Lake Hancock, and The Porches Inn at MASS MoCA is a tremendous place to get some rest. And that's not all you can do here at Lake Hancock. Lake Hancock is great enough to spend more than a day at, Clarksburg State Park is a great  
   local campground; a magnificent close by hotel is Knights Inn Bennington.
This lake is so wonderful. A delightful location for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Lake Hancock is Green River, and hiking along the Bald Mountain Trail is pleasant fun. The Old Stage Trail offers hiking at its best; why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like MT Anthony Country Club. All through the months of summer here at Lake Hancock, high temperatures ordinarily
 
               get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Lake Hancock throughout the winter mostly sink into the 0's.
Lake Hancock gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is February. If you came to camp Shady Acres Campground is a great spot to do that. You can run the rapids of Walloomsac River near Lake Hancock; what would winter be without some skiing at Haystack.
A lake close by is Bugbee Mill Pond, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Bennington here.
