Lake Hancock gets a typical amount of rain; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. After a long day outdoors Knights Inn Bennington is a magnificent place to spend a night or two; there are other places here than Lake Hancock,                  for example South Stream Pond. Mount Greylock Ski Club is a very popular ski area in the vicinity, and Walloomsac River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. The sight of Scrub Hill from Lake Hancock is beautiful, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Old Stage Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There is a wonderful hiking trail close to Lake Hancock called the Bald Mountain Trail, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on Green River. High temperatures at Lake Hancock all through the months of summer are in the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Lake Hancock. This lake is so wonderful.
