Lyndon Outing Club is a brilliant local ski area. Do visit Norton Pond in the neighborhood of Halfway Pond, it's a lovely lake; Halfway Pond is right by the Mount Gore Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things near Halfway Pond. Take a hike on the Gore Trail, and if you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is a nice choice. This lake is so wonderful. If       you came to camp Lakeside Camping Area is a great spot to do that, and you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Number Six Road. Summertime highs at Halfway Pond regularly tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with temperatures at Halfway Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. The annual rain here at Halfway Pond is about average; of all the months in                  a year August is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Clyde River, and if you like swamps you're in luck, The Loon Hole is right nearby. Get covered with water paddling on Nulhegan River; camping at Char- BO Campground is always a pleasant experience.
