A tremendous close by hotel is The Middlebury Inn, and if you're here, do take a journey to Page Point. Be careful coming to Halfmoon Lake, you might not ever wanna return back home again. For you golfers we recommend close by Prospect Bay Country Club, and tremendous hiking is available along the Half Moon Pond Trail. Not far from Halfmoon Lake, you'll locate Black Pond which is a beautiful lake; swamps like Beaver Meadow close to Halfmoon Lake make for tremendous places to explore. camping at Bomoseen State Park Campground is always a fine experience. Halfmoon Lake is a good site of normal rain; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture.
During the days of summer at Halfmoon Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight
here at Halfmoon Lake. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Glen Lake Trail; Halfmoon Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Half Moon State Park Campground is a wonderful local campground.

Country Village Campgrounds

Country Village Campground has 41 spacious sites that can accommodate small tents all the way up to the largest of campers. The bath house is clean and spacious with hot showers, and it is located right in the middle of the campground for easy access to all sites. A trip to Country Village Campground wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Branbury State Park; nearby you hit upon the Silver Lake Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Camping in Vermont is such a fun thing to do. All the nice local attractions in close proximity and the nice variety of outdoors recreation will certainly have you coming back persistently.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Fern Lake which is small and pristine. At this campground you will always have a delightful time. Getting to Neshobe River from Country Village Campground is simple, and Middlebury River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby.

Rocky Pond
 | 15 miles away 4 PHOTOS Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go. Keewaydin Trail
 | 15 miles away White Rocks,great trail 0.8 miles up. Trails interstect with AT, check map before you go up. Two water falls on the left. First one could be risky to see always a wet gorge. Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south. The peak was quite higher at one time in the past. Looking down over the cliff edge are three seperate rock falls which is the old peak.... |
