     You'll find a scenic lake called Moscow Pond near Glen Lake; the Half Moon Pond Trail offers hiking at its best. From a precipitation point of view Glen Lake is a quite common place; August is the wettest month with most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. O'Brien Point is close to Glen Lake and is a pleasant spot to pop by; magnificent hiking is available along the Glen Lake Trail. During your visit to Glen Lake you'll meet  
   some folks from Rutland for sure, and why not camp at Half Moon State Park Campground if you're here at Glen Lake.
Summer at Glen Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Glen Lake. Fair Haven Municipal Forest is worth a visit, and you don’t have to go far from Glen Lake to see the water at
 
               Glen Lake Dam. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a delightful time here at Glen Lake. There's magnificent hiking along the Bomoseen Hiking Loop; from Glen Lake you acquire a pleasant view of Cedar Mountain.
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Poultney River, and Best Western Ticonderoga Inn & Suites is a good spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Glen Lake and you like golf, you can go to Prospect Bay Country Club, and Beaver Meadow is an interesting swamp near Glen Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel Ticonderoga, and lakes are such calm sites, why not go to Wheeler Pond.
Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Glen Lake. Camping is available at Bomoseen State Park Campground.

...ome. Quite a lot of cool stuff to do next to Country Village Campground, and it's one of those places where everything is close.

If only every location had this much outdoor entertaining stuff, what a great planet it would be. A tremendous place like Half Moon Pond State Park is near Country Village Campground and is too wonderful to leave out, and going for a hike on the Falls of Lana Trail is always a perfect adventure. All through the warm days of summer at Country Village Campground highs are mostly in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 0's. When the weather is good here at Country Village Campground, you can go for a hike along the Chandler Ridge Trail, and the friendly people of Brandon like to hang out nearby. The Duval Trail is a delightful hiking trail next to Country Village Campground, and a day on Pico Mountain is just what you need.

Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go. I am enclosing a picture i took on June 19th 2007....

White Rocks,great trail 0.8 miles up. Trails interstect with AT, check map before you go up. Two water falls on the left. First one could be risky to see always a wet gorge. Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south. The peak was quite higher at one time in the past. Looking down over the cliff edge are three seperate rock falls which is the old peak....
