Fortier Pond is right by the Half Moon Pond Trail; after a long day outdoors The Middlebury Inn is a perfect location to spend a night or two. Courtyard By Marriott Middlebury is a nice place to       get some rest, and hiking along the Glen Lake Trail is nice fun. This lake is so wonderful. On a beautiful day you get a view of Conkey Hill from Fortier Pond; brilliant water scenery is available at Sunrise Lake Dam right next door to Fortier Pond. From a precipitation point of view Fortier Pond is a quite common place; during August this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Lakes are such calm sites, why not visit                  Johnson Pond right next door to Fortier Pond. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Fortier Pond has to offer, you can camp at Big D Campground. You need to stop at Arnolds Ledge while you're here at Fortier Pond; get your heart pumping on the delightful whitewater of Poultney River. Through the summertime months at Fortier Pond highs are commonly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's with temperatures at Fortier Pond dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. Just can't get enough of Fortier Pond.
