    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Fortier Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A great close by hotel is Lake Bomoseen Inn, and the view of pretty Conkey Hill is great. If you need a spot to stay Edgewater Motel is a good choice; there's whitewater on Otter Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. Through the warmest time of the year at Fortier Pond temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Daytime  
   highs during the wintertime are in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Fortier Pond descend into the 0's.
Camping is available at Big D Campground; there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Glen Lake Trail. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. Camping at Half Moon State Park Campground is always a brilliant experience; get your heart beating on the pleasant whitewater of Poultney
 
               River. A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Fortier Pond; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is February.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Choate Pond, and on a wonderful day you can take a hike along the Half Moon Pond Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is nice here at Fortier Pond, you can go for a hike along the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial, and lots of folks from Rutland come here.
Arnolds Ledge is an out of the ordinary place to stop at while at Fortier Pond, and an exciting thing to visit near Fortier Pond is Sunrise Lake Dam.
