     The beauty of Emerald Lake attracts many people from all around. There's nice hiking along the Mad Tom Trail, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Snow Valley if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water nearby, Gulf Brook is a stream you can stop by while you're here, and there are other locations here than Emerald Lake, for example South Village Pond. Big Branch is a pleasant whitewater spot near Emerald Lake;  
   dry warm beds await you at Manchester View Fine Lodging.
For the period of the warmest time of the year highs here at Emerald Lake reach the 80's while nighttime lows are usually in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Emerald Lake. So many enjoyable things in the Green Mountains, just fantastic. Camping is available at Campground A, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Emerald Lake;
 
               Lake Trail is a great local trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. You can never get enough of the magnificent skiing at Bromley, and at Emerald Lake you can observe Dorset Hill.
This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Baker Peak Trail, and Inns at the Equinox is a glorious location to get some rest. The Green Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Emerald Lake is a reasonably wet place usually with lots of rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February.
Man, is there a lot of cool stuff to do in the vicinity of Emerald Lake. You'll meet a lot of folks from Bennington here. And that's not all you can do here in the Green Mountains. A wooded region close to Emerald Lake is Emerald Lake State Forest; Bullhead Pond is a brilliant lake nearby. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mill River, and if you came for an overnight stay Campground B is a great spot to camp.

Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go. I am enclosing a picture i took on June 19th 2007....
