Eagle Pond is a lake worth visiting. Dry warm beds await you at Stonehelm Motel; on a good day you can take a hike along the North Shore Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Creek Dam is worth taking a look at since you're here; there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Salmon River. Camping is available at Alburg RV Resort, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge St. Albans is a glorious location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful.

| | Devils Pond is a great lake near Eagle Pond, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the West Shore Trail. Balm of Gilead Point is not far from Eagle Pond at all. Here at Eagle Pond there are plenty of folks from Burlington-South Burlington, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Mud Creek. and the Southern Tip Trail is a pleasant hiking trail nearby. For the period of the months of summer at Eagle Pond temperatures are mostly in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in
the 20's with temperatures at Eagle Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. No need to travel far to stop by exciting stuff like Big Bluff, and a beautiful lake like Mud Creek Pond is a brilliant spot to explore.
Eagle Pond gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month is January.

This place is well kept and clean. Close to all resorts for sight seeing. We camp there every summer.... |

 | 19 miles away More strainers in this river than I have ever seen, anywhere. Upper part to 87 could be a great run at about 2 1/2 feet(guage on bridge on salmon river rd.) Again, have to be aware of strainers, most are river wide. Dont bother with 87 east to lake champlain, mostly flat with over twenty beaver dams. Lots of leaches.... |
