    Why not stop by Duck Pond if you're passing through these parts. Duck Pond is one of the lakes here in the Green Mountains. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Green Mountains. Lyndon Outing Club is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood, and Vail Pond is a pleasant lake close by.
Lakes? Sure, Blake Pond is in close proximity, and whitewater paddling is delightful on Barton River. If only every spot had this much outdoors cool stuff,
 
   what a great globe it would be. Going for a hike on the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail is always a great adventure, and White Caps Campground is a perfect local campground. Go for a hike on the South Shore Hiking Trail, and in the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clyde River.
This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Burke Mountain, and if you came for an overnight stay
 
               White Caps Campground is a pleasant site to camp. An average amount of rain falls at Duck Pond; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area; if you need a place to stay Holiday Motel and Annex is a good choice.
The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Duck Pond. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Duck Pond are in the 0's. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things in the Green Mountains. Good hiking is available along the Mount Pisgah Trail, and Mount Hor is clearly visible from Duck Pond.
