    A visit to Dow Pond is always a good idea. There's some interesting stuff to make out at Dow Pond Dam close to Dow Pond, and a fine location for whitewater paddling is New Haven River. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Oak Ridge Trail, and you can stay the night at Lake Dunmore Kamperville. Very picturesque scenery and great skiing is what you get at Mad River Glen, and if you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling  
   on Middlebury River.
Going for a hike on the Beaver Meadow Trail is always a splendid adventure, and Dow Pond is a great place to visit for more than one day, Green Mountain Family Campground is a great place to camp nearby. What would winter be without some skiing at Sugarbush, and if you need a site to stay The Middlebury Inn is a glorious choice. That right there is lots already, but it continues; Dow Pond has it all. Near Dow Pond you come across the Abbey
 
               Pond Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and dry warm beds await you at Courtyard By Marriott Middlebury.
This lake is so wonderful. From a rain point of view Dow Pond is a pretty typical place; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. At Dow Pond all through the months of summer highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Dow Pond.
