The beauty of Dow Pond is reason enough to stop by. If you want a glorious time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Dow Pond. The Middlebury Inn is a glorious site to get some rest, and New Haven River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by. During the summertime months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Dow Pond, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows

| | in the 0's to Dow Pond. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Sugarbush, and camping is available at Green Mountain Family Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Oak Ridge Trail is always a pleasant adventure; a nice close by hotel is Courtyard By Marriott Middlebury. There is a nice hiking trail near Dow Pond called the Abbey Pond Trail; a picturesque lake like Abbey Pond is a delightful place to stop at. Do check out Middlebury Water | |

Supply close to Dow Pond, it's a pretty lake; Dow Pond Dam is lovely. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Middlebury River is so much fun, and the slopes of Mad River Glen are so inviting noone can resist. Near Dow Pond you locate
the Beaver Meadow Trail which is a splendid hiking trail; if you came for an overnight stay Lake Dunmore Kamperville is a fine location to camp. The amount of precipitation that falls at Dow Pond is close to the national average; August is the wettest month with most rain; February is the month with the least moisture.

Country Village Campgrounds

Brandon is a well-known artist's village that is famous for several galleries shops and restaurants, and home to the well-know artist Warren Kimball. There are also many wonderful events held in the village including weekly farmers markets, and several festivals and parades throughout the year.
Country Village Campground has 41 spacious sites that can accommodate small tents all the way up to the largest of campers. The bath house is clean and spacious with hot showers, and it is located right in the middle of the campground for easy access to all sites. A trip to Country Village Campground wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Branbury State Park; nearby you hit upon the Silver Lake Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Camping in Vermont is such a fun thing to do. All the nice local attractions in close proximity and the nice variety of outdoors recreation will certainly have you coming back persistently.

This is true rustic camping...the only things offered at the campground is an outhouse and a brook for bathing..(coldest water I've ever been in).. wonderful hiking trails... beautiful beaver pond.... and generally some wonderful people around to sit around a fire with!!... |
