This lake is so wonderful. Crown Point Camping Area is a splendid campground nearby; the slopes of Ascutney are so inviting noone can resist. Cooks Pond gets a good deal of water; through August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. At Cooks Pond through the summer highs are in the 70's with overnight       lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Cooks Pond. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Williams River, and Cooks Pond is a glorious place to visit for more than one day, Running Bear Camping Area is a glorious place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are tremendous; Bloodsucker Pond is a lake that's next to Cooks Pond, and Holiday Inn Express SPRINGFIELD is a pleasant                  location to get some rest. You'll meet a lot of folks from Lebanon here, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Springfield Reservoir. Glide down the rapids of Black River in a kayak, and hey, Gotta ski right? Suicide Six is a glorious place to do that. This place rocks, just check out all the fun stuff to do next to Cooks Pond. If the weather is good here at Cooks Pond, you can go for a hike along the Slot Trail. So many fun things to do at Cooks Pond, so little time.
