If the weather is good here at Clyde Pond, you can go for a hike along the Mount Pisgah Trail, and not far from here you can enjoy the trees of Derby Center Village Municipal Forest. Clyde Pond gets a typical amount of precipitation; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. | | say, this is a perfect vicinity for people who like lakes, Lake Memphremagog is a lake nearby. If you're a golfer then a nice close by course is Newport Country Club, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Barton River. This lake is so wonderful. Clyde Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Chargo Campground is a great local campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Clyde River offers some great whitewater.  | I am suprised that I am being ask to be the first person to give input on this beautiful lake that spans northern VT into Canada. It is a lake that talks to you, as far as my opinion goes. I lived in Newport,Newport Center (Bear Mountain) and Noth Troy when I was bewtween the ages of 9-13. I am now 42!
I just recently went back to Newport and that beautiful lake that talked to me, and i think it helped me figure out a part of my life that has been a little bit difficult to understand and move ahead. I Do have somr pictures in some old photo albumd, and I will make an effort to submit, Agian I am Surprised I am the first to comment on this Lake, it is ,as far as I am concerned one of the wonder of NEW ENGLAND!... |
