High temperatures at Clarks Pond all through the summer months are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are generally in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Clarks Pond descend into the 0's. Go for a hike on the South Shore Hiking Trail, and a magnificent place for whitewater paddling is Barton River. And if that's not enough there's a lot more cool things to do in the Green Mountains.

| | After a long day outdoors Fairbanks Inn is a splendid place to spend a night or two, and if you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Joe's Brook River. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Lyndon Outing Club is brilliant; Shadow Lake Dam is a stunning place. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Clarks Pond. August this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Black Hills can be observed from Clarks Pond, and do take a look at Runaway Pond, it's a delightful
lake. Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is a splendid location to get some rest, and while you're here, you could also take a look at pretty Bruce Pond. Now, you may assume that's a lot but there's even more cool stuff to do here
in the Green Mountains. Don't leave Clarks Pond without first going for a hike along the Mount Pisgah Trail, and why not camp at Injun Joe Court since you're here at Clarks Pond. Be careful coming to Clarks Pond, you might not
ever wanna return home again. Everybody close by loves skiing at Burke Mountain, and camping is available at Belview Campground. The Green Mountains scenery is always beautiful. Morrison Brook is a great location to take a look at; going for a hike on the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail is always a tremendous adventure.

It is a lake that talks to you, as far as my opinion goes. I lived in Newport,Newport Center (Bear Mountain) and Noth Troy when I was bewtween the ages of 9-13. I am now 42!
I just recently went back to Newport and that beautiful lake that talked to me, and i think it helped me figure out a part of my life that has been a little bit difficult to understand and move ahead.
