There's so much to do here at Choate Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Bomoseen State Park Campground is a pleasant site for that; Best Western Ticonderoga Inn & Suites is a magnificent place to get some rest. Stay the night at Half Moon State Park Campground, and Sunrise Lake Dam is not far at all from Choate Pond. are some wonderful whitewater spots on Poultney River. Summertime highs at Choate Pond ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's, and night
lows all through the winter for Choate Pond tend to be in the 0's. This site is peerless, just check out all the enjoyable stuff to do in the neighborhood of Choate Pond. Hiking along the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial is perfect
fun, and during your visit here you'll meet some people from Rutland for sure. If you come at the right time of year, Otter Creek offers some good whitewater; not far from Choate Pond you'll hit upon Mud Pond which is a beautiful
lake. There are other locations here than Choate Pond, for example Spruce Pond, and what would a site like Choate Pond be without exciting close by traits like Arnolds Ledge. Choate Pond is a good site of common precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while February is mostly the driest month.

Country Village Campgrounds

There are also many wonderful events held in the village including weekly farmers markets, and several festivals and parades throughout the year.
Country Village Campground has 41 spacious sites that can accommodate small tents all the way up to the largest of campers. The bath house is clean and spacious with hot showers, and it is located right in the middle of the campground for easy access to all sites. A trip to Country Village Campground wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Branbury State Park; nearby you hit upon the Silver Lake Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Camping in Vermont is such a fun thing to do. All the nice local attractions in close proximity and the nice variety of outdoors recreation will certainly have you coming back persistently.

Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south. The peak was quite higher at one time in the past. Looking down over the cliff edge are three seperate rock falls which is the old peak.... |

 | 19 miles away 4 PHOTOS Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go.
