What a nice lake Choate Pond is. That right there is heaps already, but it carries on; Choate Pond has it all. Go for a hike on the Half Moon Pond Trail, and camping at Bomoseen State Park Campground is always a pleasant experience. Don't leave Choate Pond without first going for a hike along the Glen Lake Trail; Choate Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Half Moon State Park Campground is a delightful local campground. This lake is so wonderful.

| | If you need a site to stay Courtyard By Marriott Middlebury is a nice choice, and Sunrise Lake Dam is pretty. During the summertime at Choate Pond temperatures are regularly in the 80's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Choate Pond. - Super 8 Motel; a lake nearby is Doughty Pond. From a rainfall point of view Choate Pond is a rather common spot; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful.
Going for a hike on the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial is always a fine adventure, and some out of the ordinary geology is available here, Arnolds Ledge is right here. Paddling on Otter Creek is so much fun; the panorama of Bishop Hill
is beautiful. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Conway Swamp is right close by, and glide down the rapids of Poultney River in a kayak.
