    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Chittenden Reservoir. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area near Chittenden Reservoir has to offer. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Green Mountains. While you're here at Chittenden Reservoir you will meet lots of folks from nearby Rutland; camping at Chittenden Reservoir is magnificent fun, Chittenden Brook Campground is a magnificent  
   local campground. The amount of rain that falls at Chittenden Reservoir is close to the national average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
At this lake you will always have a good time. Why not take a refreshing hike along the New Boston Trail; Econo Lodge Killington Area is a tremendous place to get some rest. Chittenden Reservoir is located in the Green Mountains. A perfect close by
 
               hotel is Mountain Top Inn and Resort; Chittenden Dam has tremendous water scenery.
Summertime highs at Chittenden Reservoir frequently tend to be in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. Hapgood Pond - Green Mountain National Forest is a nice campground here, and in the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mill River.
