Jay Peak is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Saint Albans is a tremendous location to spend a night or two. Lake Carmi is good enough to spend more than a day at, Maple Grove Campground is a good local campground, and a pleasant close by hotel is La Quinta Inn AND Suites St Albans. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Lake Carmi, you could also check out beautiful Lake Carmi, and if you're here
you can play some golf at Enosburg Falls Country Club.
The summit of Shingle Hill can be spotted from Lake Carmi; Little Pond is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. Lake Carmi is a wet place that gets a great deal of rain; the wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. Throughout the days of summer at Lake Carmi highs are typically in the 80's. Summer overnight lows

drop down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Lake Carmi are in the 0's.
This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Lamoille River, and Smugglers Notch has great slopes and a friendly staff. There's so much to do here at Lake Carmi that you need to camp here for a while, Millpond Campground is a wonderful location for that, and why not a little side spree to Alder Run. All the outdoors fun things in close proximity to Lake Carmi will keep you coming back again and again. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Missisquoi River, and you'll perhaps meet some folks from Burlington-South Burlington here.

Jay Peak is 385 acres and 2,153 vertical feet of glades, bumps, groomers, and parks. Jay Peak is well known for its glades and extreme chutes but there's more to the mountain than just expert terrain ? like The Zone, Jay Peak's learning area, which includes 4 lifts that access 11 trails and introductory glades....
Hmm? Jay Peak seems like it has two peaks, shouldn't it be called Jay Peaks? But other than the confusing name I have no complaints. Lots of good runs....

Browns River

...r from Westford to the Lamoille River and then down the Lamoille to the Georgia High Bridge in late October 2007. It had rained for a few days prior to our run and the Browns was at flood stage (over Pettingill Rd. about five miles upstream of the put in). Putting in at the Rte. 128 bridge in Westford, at this level you find about 1/4 mile of class II water until you reach the covered bridge in Westford. There is a diagonal hole just below the covered bridge which is right above a partially washed out dam. We ran the 8ft dam on the far right successfully and continued down river. The rapids below here at this level are good class III+ in places mixed with lots of fast moving flat water. There are 3 or 4 somewhat technical ledge drops ranging in height from 3ft to 6ft. After scouting, we ran everything. Once we hit the Lamoille, which was running around 5000cfs, it was big water class II and III down to Georgia. The ledge drop and run out rapid above the High Bridge were HUGE. If the air wasn't so cold and the wind blowing so hard, we could have used the big recirculating edies there ...
