    Butler Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Going for a hike on the Leicester Hollow Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and some delightful nature is available in Proctor Village Municipal Forest. Summertime highs at Butler Pond typically tend to be in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. All through the winter highs are commonly in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Butler Pond. This lake is so wonderful.  
   Skiing at Pico Mountain is one of those things you just have to do; a golf course close by is Proctor-Pittsford Country Club.
The yearly precipitation here at Butler Pond is about average; most of the rain falls through August; February is the month with the least moisture. Butler Pond is one of the lakes here in the Green Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Here at Butler Pond there are plenty of people from Rutland, and not far from
 
               Butler Pond you'll locate Smith Pond which is a wonderful lake.
Yep, outdoors enjoyable things truly is plentiful here in the Green Mountains. Get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Otter Creek. Lakes are pleasant; Sargent Pond is a lake that's close to Butler Pond. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Green Mountains. Near Butler Pond you locate the Chandler Ridge Trail which is a delightful hiking trail; you can stay the night at Country Village Campgrounds. Man, is there a lot of exciting stuff to do in the neighborhood of Butler Pond.
There's so much to do here at Butler Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Smoke Rise Family Campground is a brilliant location for that; a good nearby hotel is Highlander Motel. Really great skiing awaits you at Killington, and after a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn Rutland is a magnificent site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. The Duval Trail is a magnificent hiking trail near Butler Pond, and there's whitewater on Clarendon River for all you adrenaline kick people.
