     Burr Pond is not far at all from Rutland, and going for a hike on the South Pond Trail is always a delightful adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Iroquios Land Family is a glorious campground nearby, and Bald Peak is clearly visible from Burr Pond. Burr Pond is located in the Green Mountains.
Burr Pond is a good location of typical rain; most of the rain falls throughout August, and February is the month with the least moisture. Be careful coming to Burr
 
   Pond, you might not ever want to return back home again. If you get bored of Burr Pond, you could also visit nearby Chittenden Reservoir; whitewater paddling is great on Mill River. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Burr Pond. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's, and night lows through the wintertime for Burr Pond tend to be in the 0's.
 
               If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Burr Pond. If you need a site to stay Mountain Top Inn and Resort is a brilliant choice, and Rutland Killington Red Roof Inn is a magnificent site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clarendon River, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the New Boston Trail.
An afternoon playing golf at Proctor-Pittsford Country Club is always a joy, and Killington is a great local ski area. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Green Mountains. Rutland City Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could visit; there is a glorious hiking trail nearby called the Canty Trail. Just can't get enough of the Green Mountains. Hapgood Pond - Green Mountain National Forest is a fine local campground, and the skiing at Pico Mountain is pleasant.
