    If you are in Orleans county it's always a good idea to stop by Brown Pond. This lake is one of the great places here in the Green Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Motel and Annex, and if you're here, you could also stop at wonderful Newark Pond. You clearly should have a thing about the Green Mountains. Burke Mountain is a very popular ski area in close proximity, and Bald Mountain is striking and can be made out from here.
This lake is so wonderful.
 
   There are some nice whitewater spots on Moose River, and if you need a site to stay Fairbanks Inn is a glorious choice. Man, is there loads of exciting things to do in the Green Mountains. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Lyndon Outing Club; get yourself into a kayak and hit Clyde River. Summertime highs at Brown Pond ordinarily tend to be in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter  
               highs are usually in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Brown Pond.
Don't leave Brown Pond without first going for a hike along the Mount Pisgah Trail; Brown Pond is a pleasant location to visit for more than one day, White Caps Campground is a pleasant location to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. There's good hiking along the South Shore Hiking Trail, and you'll come across a delightful lake called Bald Hill Pond.
Having a pleasant time at Brown Pond is easy. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Brown Pond; Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail is a great local trail, and White Caps Campground is a tremendous local campground. An average amount of rainfall falls at Brown Pond; August is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is February.
