If you are in this part of Vermont make sure to pay a visit to Black Pond. On a splendid day at Black Pond you can take a hike along the Half Moon Pond Trail; Said Dam is an attention-grabbing thing to check out. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the area right next door to Black Pond has to offer. There is a great hiking trail near Black Pond called the Glen Lake Trail, and why not camp at Half Moon State Park Campground while you're here

Sure, Halfmoon Lake is in the vicinity, and Bomoseen State Park Campground is a brilliant local campground. is a good place of normal precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Courtyard By Marriott Middlebury,
and while you're here and you like golf, you can have a look at Prospect Bay Country Club. If the weather is glorious here at Black Pond, you can go for a hike along the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial; Breese Pond is a magnificent lake
nearby. Throughout the summertime highs here at Black Pond get into the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's; overnight lows all through the wintertime for Black Pond tend to be in the 0's.

Country Village Campgrounds

It is within 5 miles of Brandon, Fern Lake and Otter Creek, and within 15 miles of Middlebury, Rutland, Lake Dunmore, Salisbury and several other small towns. Brandon is a well-known artist's village that is famous for several galleries shops and restaurants, and home to the well-know artist Warren Kimball. There are also many wonderful events held in the village including weekly farmers markets, and several festivals and parades throughout the year.
Country Village Campground has 41 spacious sites that can accommodate small tents all the way up to the largest of campers. The bath house is clean and spacious with hot showers, and it is located right in the middle of the campground for easy access to all sites. A trip to Country Village Campground wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Branbury State Park; nearby you hit upon the Silver Lake Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail.  | 15 miles away White Rocks,great trail 0.8 miles up. Trails interstect with AT, check map before you go up. Two water falls on the left. First one could be risky to see always a wet gorge. Second is off the AT a short way. At the top is a rock art garden where a sign for White Rocks cliff trail 0.2 to overlook, great view west north and south. The peak was quite higher at one time in the past. Looking down over the cliff edge are three seperate rock falls which is the old peak.... |

 | 15 miles away 4 PHOTOS Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go.
