In Vermont there are many beautiful lakes, Billings Pond is one of them. Billings Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Billings Pond really is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. Take a hike on the Kelly Camp Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Deerfield River - East Branch offers some tremendous whitewater. This lake is so wonderful.

| | There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Deerfield River, and don't forget to take a wonderful little tour to Little Pond Brook. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can take a look at Adams Reservoir Dam, and needless to say, this is a delightful vicinity for folks who like lakes, Red Mill Pond is a lake close at hand. This lake is so wonderful. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Mount Snow is close to Billings Pond, and camping at Red Mill Brook | |

Campground is always a fine experience. Mt Snow Grand Summit Resort is a good location to get some rest, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Molly Stark Trail. Camping is available at Holysmoke Camps, and after
a long day outdoors The Porches Inn at MASS MoCA is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two. What a place this is for outdoors people. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Mill Pond; during your
journey here you'll meet some people from Bennington for sure. Summertime highs at Billings Pond ordinarily tend to be in the 80's, and the nighttime is somewhat colder of course, mostly in the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime
are typically in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Billings Pond temperatures sink to the 0's. A day on the slopes of Haystack is just what you need, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Atwood Trail.

Deerfield River - West Branch
 | WOW. don't come here unless you been paddlin for some time. Although a bit easier than CL5 I have done in other states, this still comes at you fast. Not easy to find a place to stay if looking for a room as it was stated here. Wasn't hard to find a place and park for the night though and with a mini van with DVDs, we snuggled up nice, with noone to bother us. Oh yeah, nice and cool at night (although summer) glad we had a lot of blankets and ways to stay warm.... |
Lake Sadawga
 | 10 miles away 1 PHOTO ...er the world, china has a good system for that (though a little strict its neccessary you only need two at the most anyway more than that is just rediculous) in building, we need roads, well when it rains the roads and the houses prevent the acidic rain from penetrating and filtering throughout the peat and other minerals in the ground. This filtration helps maintain proper ph (affects fish immensely) and filter sediment out (which hinders the gills of fish)not to mention aids in producing topsoil. so the acid rain is now draining in ditches and along the road into ... sadawga, harriman res., and any other local streams which WILL go to larger bodys of water affecting the fish in numerous ways. I'm just a local catch and release fisherman who has left home to make a difference at home and around the world. as for the natural gas emissions problems, I'm not so worried about that (though its still a worry) to me its more important to focus on my previous exerpt as that affects the later exponentially. Its a great area and Iencourage you to visit it but please help me in my quest for a ... |

Jiminy Peak
 | 26 miles away 4 PHOTOS ...Jiminy Peak is capable of making snow on 93% of its terrain, and lighting 20 of its trails allowing for night skiing until 10pm. It is the home of the Berkshire Express, the region's only 6 passenger high-speed chairlift, which brings you to the summit in less than 5 minutes! The mountain is also served by 2 quads, 3 triples, a double, and two magic carpets.
In 2007, Jiminy Peak became the first ski resort to construct its own wind turbine on property, for the purpose of powering its operations. Named Zephyr, the turbine stands 386 feet tall, and produces about a third of the total energy requirements of the resort.
Jiminy Peak's Base Area includes a beautiful Village Center that addresses all of your needs. As you arrive and unload in the drop off area, you first notice the Paul Major welcome center. Inside you'll find the Guest Services desk, as well as a Renewable Energy Education Center.
