If you need a place to stay Lakeview Motel is a good choice; there's great hiking along the Molly Stark Trail. Big Pond is not the only place close by, Bugbee Mill Pond is a close by lake, and there's whitewater on Roaring Branch for all you thrill seekers. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Big Pond you will meet lots of folks from nearby Bennington; don't leave Big Pond without       first going for a hike along the Atwood Trail. The snow is magnificent at Haystack, and visit nearby Beaver Meadows. So much fun stuff close to Big Pond, clearly unbelievable. If the weather is beautiful, you obtain a great sight of Hagar Hill from Big Pond, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Big Pond; Old Stage Trail is a great local trail. Camping is available at Red Mill Brook Campground, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Mount Snow is pretty                  near. A good nearby hotel is Peter Pan Motel, and the scenery at Bugbee Pond Dam is delightful. A good deal of rainfall falls at Big Pond; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Why not camp at Holysmoke Camps while you're here at Big Pond, and there are some good whitewater spots on Walloomsac River. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Big Pond temperatures are usually in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Big Pond during the wintertime mostly dip into the 0's.
