There's great hiking along the Atwood Trail, and if you came to camp Holysmoke Camps is a brilliant location to do that. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Roaring Branch; Big Pond is right by the Old Stage Trail. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Haystack, and the Molly Stark Trail offers hiking at its best. From Big Pond you obtain a       nice vista of Hagar Hill, and on a great day you can check out Beaver Meadows, a swamp close to Big Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Get soaked paddling on Walloomsac River; a brilliant close by hotel is Alexandra B and B. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Big Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Big Pond dipping down into the 0's during                  winter nights.
