     An average amount of rainfall falls at Bean Pond; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Bean Pond is one of the lakes here in the Green Mountains.
Go for a hike on the South Shore Hiking Trail, and if you get bored of Bean Pond you could also visit nearby Vail Pond. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The Green Mountains rocks! Good
 
   hiking is available along the Mount Pisgah Trail, and glide down the rapids of Clyde River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Get dripping wet paddling on Barton River; one of the principal highlights of the surroundings of Bean Pond is Libby Hill.
This lake is so wonderful. Super 8 Motel - Derby/Newport Area is a great site to get some rest, and Sheffield Municipal Forest is a nice forest region close by. You completely must like Bean Pond. There's some
 
               flowing water nearby, Annis Brook is a stream you can check out while here, and Bean Pond is not the only location close by, Blake Pond is a close by lake. Now, you may believe that's a load but there's even more fun things to do here in the Green Mountains. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Bean Pond has to offer, you can camp at White Caps Campground, and going for a hike on the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail is always a magnificent adventure.
What would winter be without some skiing at Lyndon Outing Club, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Motel and Annex is a great place to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at Bean Pond that you need to camp here for a while, White Caps Campground is a splendid place for that; picturesque scenery and perfect skiing is what you get at Burke Mountain. Through the warm days of summer at Bean Pond highs are generally in the 70's, and the overnight is a little chillier of course, usually in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Bean Pond.

I am suprised that I am being ask to be the first person to give input on this beautiful lake that spans northern VT into Canada. It is a lake that talks to you, as far as my opinion goes. I lived in Newport,Newport Center (Bear Mountain) and Noth Troy when I was bewtween the ages of 9-13. I am now 42!

I just recently went back to Newport and that beautiful lake that talked to me, and i think it helped me figure out a part of my life that has been a little bit difficult to understand and move ahead. I Do have somr pictures in some old photo albumd, and I will make an effort to submit,
