Bancroft Pond is a beautiful lake in the Green Mountains. This is a popular site for folks from Barre; don't leave Bancroft Pond without first going for a hike along the Silver Ledge Trail. So many exciting things to do in the Green Mountains, not sufficient time. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Minister Brook; let's not forget Lanes Brook which is a stream that you may run into while you're here. This lake is       so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Barre-Days Inn Barre/Montpelier is a good choice. And that's not all you can do here at Bancroft Pond. Winooski River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by; Jones State Forest is a good local forest. This lake is so wonderful. Spooners Trailer Park and Campground is a wonderful local campground; you can go for a hike on the Kettle Pond Trail. If you came for an overnight stay Onion River Campground is a                  wonderful spot to camp; you acquire a magnificent sight of Maple Hill from here. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Bancroft Pond temperatures are commonly in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Bancroft Pond. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Green Mountains. A splendid nearby hotel is Hollow Inn and Motel, and there's nice hiking along the Owls Head Trail.
