If you are in Rutland county it's always a good idea to stop by Austin Pond. If you came to camp Half Moon State Park Campground is a great spot to do that, and if you come at the right time of year, Otter Creek offers some wonderful whitewater. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Austin Pond. Prospect Bay Country Club is a golf course near Austin Pond. Good hiking is available along the Half Moon Pond Trail; Edgewater Motel

There's so much to do here at Austin Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Big D Campground is a great place for that, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Poultney River. the Daniel Coffey Memorial Trial. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Austin Pond; Bomoseen Hiking Loop is a good local trail, and dry warm beds await you at Hotel Trakenseen. Austin Pond is a place with many visitors from
Rutland, needless to say you could also pop by Beebe Pond while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. No need to travel far to go to exciting stuff like Barber Ledge, and Hubbardton Gulf is nearby, and is a
splendid spot. The peak of Eagle Rock can be spotted from Austin Pond; Austin Pond Dam is not far at all from Austin Pond. During the warm months here at Austin Pond, high temperatures typically reach the 80's. When the night
sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Austin Pond. The amount of rainfall that falls at Austin Pond is close to the national average; throughout August this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is February.
