If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Green Mountains. Get your heart beating on the glorious whitewater of Black River, and a gorgeous lake like Lake Rescue is a fine place to have a look at. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Killington is one of those things you just have to do; there's perfect hiking along the Barnard Trail. Amherst Lake is a beautiful lake in the       Green Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. From Amherst Lake you get a fine sight of Blueberry Hill; Carpenter Point is very near and is a great site to explore. This is no location for people who don’t like to have a good time. Okemo Valley Golf Club is a golf course near Amherst Lake. That right there is loads already, but it goes on; Amherst Lake has it all. A perfect location for whitewater paddling near Amherst Lake is Mill River, and wonderful scenery                  and nice skiing is what you obtain at Okemo. Good hiking is available along the Juggernaut Trail; The Pointe at Castle Hill Resort is a good place to get some rest. Echo Lake is a great lake in the vicinity of Amherst Lake, and Coolidge State Park is a good campground nearby. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Green Mountains. Buffalo Brook is a gorgeous stream that is worth visiting; the Bucklin Trail offers hiking at its best. Sugarhouse Campground is a tremendous local campground, and if you need a location to stay Jackson Gore Inn on Okemo Mountain is a great choice. At Amherst Lake during the summertime highs are in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's while Amherst Lake nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.
