What a nice lake Amherst Lake is. An exciting thing to stop by near Amherst Lake is Amherst Lake Dam, and there is a splendid hiking trail nearby called the Juggernaut Trail. Any time is a great time at Amherst Lake if you love the outdoors. A perfect place for whitewater paddling near Amherst Lake is West River; after a long day outdoors Winterplace on Okemo Mountain is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. | | the Green Mountains. So many exciting things to do in the Green Mountains, not sufficient time. Jackson Gore Inn on Okemo Mountain is a magnificent place to get some rest, and nearby you'll hit upon a wooded neighborhood called Calvin Coolidge State Forest. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Amherst Lake. The sight of Bear Mountain from Amherst Lake is picturesque. while, Plymouth Village Campground is a tremendous location for that. Yep, outdoors enjoyable things truly is plentiful here in the Green Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Grass Pond is in the vicinity, and you
can run the rapids of Mill River. Much precipitation falls at Amherst Lake; the month with most of the rain is August, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Near Amherst Lake you come across
the Bucklin Trail which is a nice hiking trail; if you came to camp Sugarhouse Campground is a splendid place to do that. Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Amherst Lake get into the 80's. When the night sets
in temperatures fall down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Amherst Lake. An afternoon playing golf at Okemo Valley Golf Club is always a bliss; the slopes of
Killington are so inviting nobody can resist. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Green Mountains. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Lake Ninevah, and everyone nearby loves skiing
at Okemo. Amherst Lake is a location with many visitors from Rutland; going for a hike on the Circle Trail is always a great adventure.
