This lake is so wonderful. Near Youel Lake you hit upon a golf course called Meadow Creek Golf Course at Pen Park, and nice hiking is available along the South River Falls Trail. If you're stopping by Youel Lake from Charlottesville, you won't be the only one; of course Naked Creek is a striking stream that is worth stopping at. Youel       Lake gets a typical amount of annual rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is January. For the period of the days of summer here at Youel Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Youel Lake. Go for a hike on the Saddleback Mountain Trail. Do                  stop at Camp Faith Lake near Youel Lake, it's a delightful lake, and whitewater paddling is nice on Rivanna River - North Fork. Camping is available at Charlottesville Koa Kampground, and Loftlands Dam has wonderful water scenery. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Courtyard Charlottesville North is a great place to get some rest, and get soaked paddling on Buck Mountain Creek. This lake is so wonderful.
