Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Harris Creek, and if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the Piney Ridge Trail. During the days of summer at Wildwood Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter       at Wildwood Lake temperatures plunge to the 20's. Just can't get enough of Wildwood Lake. While you're here at Wildwood Lake you will meet lots of folks from close by Lynchburg. There's so much to do here at Wildwood Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Wildwood Campground is a pleasant location for that. Poplar Forest Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at, and if you come at the right time of year, James River offers some delightful                  whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Wildwood Lake you can take a hike along the Terrapin Mountain Trail, and a great nearby hotel is SpringHill Suites Lynchburg. While you're here at Wildwood Lake, you could also stop at pretty Timber Lake, and Best Western Of Lynchburg is a delightful spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Do visit Wildwood Dam Number One while you're here at Wildwood Lake. Wildwood Lake mostly gets lots of rain; all through May this area sees the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
