Camping is available at Stoney Creek Resort. Now, you may think that's a lot but there's even more amusing things to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. A lake nearby is Hattons Pond; camping at Walnut Hills Campground is always a brilliant experience. Wilda Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rain; the month with most of the rain is August; February on the other hand is the driest.
Wilda Lake is right by the Stony Run Trail, and South River Number Seven

Dam is not far at all from Wilda Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Microtel Inn Staunton is a glorious location to get some rest, and a day on the slopes of Wintergreen is just what you need. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Tye River - North Fork offers some magnificent whitewater, and if you get bored of Wilda Lake you could also stop by nearby Lake Wilda.
So many exciting things to do here at Wilda Lake, too wonderful

to be true. Going for a hike along the Kennedy Ridge Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and a good close by hotel is Days Inn Staunton/ Mint Springs. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! The Blue Ridge Mountains is great! The smiling folks of Staunton-Waynesboro like to hang out nearby, and why not take a little journey to Deep Pond Run if you're here. Summertime highs at Wilda Lake generally tend to be in the 80's. Summer night lows dip down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Wilda Lake.
This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Marl Creek - South R.Trib; hiking along the Cold Spring Bald Mountain Trail is good fun.

Sherando Lake Campground
Well me and my family have been going to Sharando Lake ever since I was born and we havn't gone anywhere else I love sherando and I can't wait to go back for another memorable camping weekend!...As close to perfect a camping experience as you can get: 1) Private, secluded, spacious campsites 2)access to flush toilets and showers, 3) a breathtakingly beautiful lake/swim area 4)hiking trails. WORD OF CAUTION: in-season, all sites are snapped up by Thurday noon for the weekend. Come on Sunday for best selection or before Thursday if you want a shot at a campsite. They don't take reservations (as of 8/2006) Wish they would so everyone could have a shot at a weekend camping trip there, not just the locals who can zip in and set a few camping chairs on the sites on Thursday to claim it for the weekend. ...

Middle River

Heading back to river this week August 27, 2007. Here is one of the fishing pics from the last trip on the river a couple weeks back in earlier August....
KOA campground is along a portion of the Middle River. Took kayak along to do some floating and fishing.Being not familiar with the area, had a hard time finding a spot to launch which was not private property. Went about 1 mile up river from campground and found a pullover on the road edge. Launched yak and started fishing. The water level is way down, almost too low to float. The fishing was AWESOME and caught plenty of smallmouth and even some nice sunfish. Couple of the smallmouths were very nice. Floated river two times over the weekend and had a good time. Several rock gardens that require walking and dragging kayak. All in all a good trip despite going solo and not knowing the area....

Back Creek - South River Tributary
We would like to get info on prices and times for the whitewater rafting. We will be in the area the weekend of July 10th, 11th and leaving the 12th....Are there kayak rentals?...
