Lots of people from Charlottesville come to Whites Pond, and Quality Inn Waynesboro is a great location to get some rest. That right there is a lot already, but it continues; Whites Pond has it all. Don't forget to take a delightful little trip to Mad Run, and the top of Little Yellow Mountain is easily seen from Whites Pond. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. A scenic lake like Crozet Water Supply       Reservoir near Whites Pond is a wonderful place to pop by. For the duration of the summertime at Whites Pond temperatures are regularly in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's; overnight lows during the wintertime for Whites Pond tend to be in the 20's. If you came to camp Misty Mountain Camp Resort is a delightful place to do that; a delightful location for                  whitewater paddling is South River. Don't leave Whites Pond without first going for a hike along the Turk Mountain Trail, and after a long day outdoors Boars Head Inn is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Loft Mountain Campgrounds is always a pleasant experience; the scenery at Whites Dam is pretty. The amount of rainfall that falls at Whites Pond is close to the national average; August is when you get the most rain here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Moormans River, and the slopes of Wintergreen are so inviting noone can resist. This lake is so wonderful. There's glorious hiking along the Sawmill Ridge Trail, and do visit Sportsman Lake, it's a pretty lake.
